Mark Bayley is a family historian, speaker and Head of Content at TheGenealogist, one of the UK’s leading genealogy research platforms. With many years of experience helping people trace their roots, Mark specialises in uncovering new ways to solve family history puzzles and bring the past to life.
In this visually engaging talk, Mark Bayley explores how map based records can transform the way you research your family history. Moving beyond names and dates, he demonstrates how to use tools such as surname mapping and heat maps to uncover where families lived, how they moved over time, and how communities were shaped.
SFHG Sussex Discovery
This is your online database, compiled for members to benefit from the research
of other members past and present.
Sue Burgess will outline what the database contains and what we plan to add in
the future. She will then provide a live demonstration of how to navigate around
SSX Discovery, highlighting what can be found and imparting a few tips along the
way.
There will be support notes available and plenty of time to ask questions. We
would also like you to give us feedback and suggestions for the next phase of
development.
Sue is a on the Executive Committee and our Newsletter editor, as well as being a
member of the SSX Discovery Development Team.
Mick gives us an update on the transcriptions of the diaries
Mary gives us an insight into Establishing the General Register Office.
